Almond Hill House is a 200-year-old, seven-bedroom, renovated farmhouse in Andalucia, Spain. Guest numbers are dependent on mix of adults, children and infants (typically a maximum of 14).

Living areas:
The living area has a dining table seating 12, comfortable sofas, tables and TV/DVD. The beautiful interior patio leads to the garden. Off the library with its books and games, there's a utility room with washing machine, WC, shower and sink.

Prepare meals in the well-equipped kitchen. It has a SMEG cooker (five-ring gas hob and electric oven), dishwasher, microwave, large fridge/freezer, kettle, blender, sharp knives, cutlery, plates, glasses and dishes. Essentials – like olive oil from the land – are provided.

Comfortable beds, powerful showers and plenty of towels; end the day in your own little oasis. Each en-suite bathroom is individually designed with beautiful Spanish tiles, large cotton towels and heated towel rails. Wi-fi in each bedroom. Extra blankets and pillows available.

* Wisteria room: king bed, en-suite bathroom with walk-in shower. Access via steps up to private balcony with stunning views.
* Olive room: king or twin room, en-suite wet-room style bathroom suitable for wheelchair users. Direct access to garden with views of orchard.
* Almond room: double, en-suite bathroom with walk-in shower. Perfect as a family suite using adjoining Fig room.
* Fig room: children's twin room or single. Share Almond bathroom or use main bathroom. Separated from Almond by double curtains - accessible from living area.
* Orange room: king or twin room, en-suite bathroom with bath/shower. Perfect as a family suite, using adjoining Lemon room. Own door to the front of house.
* Lemon room: small twin for two children or single adult – sharing a bathroom with the Orange or use the main house bathroom.
* Jasmine room annex: king or twin, en-suite bathroom with walk-in shower. Access via its own private door a few paces from the main house. This room can be rented in addition to the main house, increasing capacity.

Outdoors: solar-heated swimming pool, large terrace area with outdoor furniture, orchard and games hut.

* Unfortunately, there are no bed-hoists and the property is not suitable for guests using large mobility scooters.

* Olive bedroom:
Olive is a step-free bedroom (16sqm) with a step-free bathroom/wet room with a roll-in shower with grab-bar and shower chair. There is also a grab-bar next to the WC. Entrance and bathroom doors are 80cm wide.
The bedroom is four metres from the parking area. The house is ten metres across the main terrace. Access into the house is via a concrete ramp leading to the library, kitchen and living room areas.

* Jasmine bedroom (26 sqm): step free from the outside to bathroom. Small step into shower. Narrow door. Double or twin.

* Fig bedroom: Step free from the living area. Small twin or single. Adjoining Almond bedroom.

Out and about:
* Órgiva has an accessible supermarket plus several bars and restaurants – including El Limonero at Hotel Taray, El Viejo Molino and Puerta Nazari.
* The beaches at Almuñecar at Salobreña have good access right to the front including to restaurants – including El Peñon in Salobreña.
* There is a 24-hour medical centre in Órgiva.

The perfect location to discover the ‘white villages’ of Las Alpujarras, Granada and the beaches of the Costa Tropical.

Whether it’s a gentle stroll or something more challenging, you can head off for a walk straight from the gate. The route of the 1000-year olive trees, a 3-hour hike to Lanjarón and a walk along the Rio Guadalfeo are all favourites. Maps (and hats!) are provided.

Órgiva: 20-minute walk, full of bars and shops. Pick up produce at Thursday’s market or enjoy a meal at several good eateries. We offer recommendations for the best tapa and food in town.

The white villages: Stunning views, a chocolate factory, hikes, jamón and home-spun rugs – a short drive (or bus ride) to the white villages of Pampaneira, Bubión and Capileira.

Lanjarón: famous for its mineral water, a 12-minute drive by car (or bus). Visit the renowned mineral water spa, ruins of a Moorish castle – plus the water & honey museums.

Beaches: In little over 30 minutes you could be swimming in the Mediterranean Sea at Salobreña with its seafood restaurants. La Herradura, Almuñécar (castle, aqueduct and Phoenician fish salting factory) and Nerja (famous for its caves) are a little further on.

Granada: The magical city of Granada, famous for the Alhambra Palace, is easy to get to by bus or car (50 minutes), we can share our favourite places to visit, eat and drink.

We’ll help arrange activities like horse riding, yoga, guided walks, skiing, golf, birdwatching and even cheesemaking!
